- This is a FREE service for eligible veterans
- Home visits are conducted to prescribe equipment and home adaptations to reduce your risk of falls and maintain independence
All recommendations are provided and installed free of charge
through the DVA.
Comprehensive Functional assessments
- Thorough assessments to evaluate your ability to perform functional tasks such as showering, dressing, cooking, using standardised assessments
- Conducted at the location of your choice (home, nursing home, workplace, retirement village)
Equipment prescription
We prescribe equipment to enable you to:
- improve/maintain your independence
- reduce your risk of falls
Equipment is also prescribed for:
- pressure care
- palliative care
OT Works will follow through with all recommendations including sourcing quotes, ordering and setting up the equipment.
Building/environmental modifications
- Renovations to improve access
(including bathrooms, kitchens and ramps) - Minor environmental modifications
(including rails, bath cut outs, stair lifts)
OT Works will organise and liaise with a suitable builder.
Occupational Health & Safety
- Manual handling risk assessments to increase safety for clients and carers
- Development of safe transfer procedures
- Carer education and training
- Workplace ergonomic assessments
Seating assessments
- Wheelchairs (manual and power chairs)
- Scooters
- Geriatric chairs
Report writing
- Enable applications
- Department of Housing applications for environmental modifications
- Rehabilitation plans and progress reports

Chronic Disease Management
(Formerly EPC)
- Medicare rebates are available for a maximum of 5 sessions per calendar year for eligible clients
